Curry! And late dinner time

Hi all,
Sorry I always seem to post about food.
I haven't had a curry for 2 months! (Since diagnosis). Been avoiding it but I love it.
Just been invited out to an Indian restaurant tonight and no idea what to eat and how much to inject.
Any advice? We are also eating late (about half 8), which is only half an hour before I take my long acting insulin so I don't want to hypo over night as we are away.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated and I'm feeling really anxious!

I can't advise you about insulin, or the intricacies of controlling T1, but, at Indian restaurants James (low carb diet controlled T2), avoids rice, bread, mango chutney and the sweeter sort of curries, especially ones containing cashews, or fruit. He gets on fine with rogan josh, spinach based dishes, lentils, mushroom dishes, tandoori and probably a few others I can't remember.

I am type 2 0 ( i guess your type 1 ) and i have a curry every Friday night, i have a chicken curry madras hot with mushroom bhaji aubergine bhaji one poppadom and one small onion bhaji, I dont have any rice bread or potatoes. 2 hours after eating i am usually in the 5s, i only eat half the mushroom and aubergine bhaji and have the rest for Saturday dinner, this is my one treat a week as i am diet and exercise controlled, dont seem to cause me any issues, hopefully you will be the same.

Shouldn't be a problem with your long acting insulin as this should just act as normal.
Indian food is a bit difficult so although I can mange some of their foods it is quite fatty and this can make your blood sugars react differently. I usually go for the tandoori type foods - chicken shashlik is lovely as is a chicken tika starter. I usually manage a side vegetable dish and a chapati. Just had an indian tonight actually. Best bit of advice is to test a bit more frequently while you are out and whilst you are away - maybe at midnight and at 3 just to make sure things are ok. All the best.
