Cystic Fibrosis Related Diabetes.

Hi there I would be interested to see if anyone else has the same type of diabetes as myself, I have cfrd which is cystic fibrosis related diabetes.

I have been diabetic for 29 nearly 30 years, it is between type 1 and type 2. Thankfully well controlled by inslin. I have been driving for 14 years and have had a 3 year driving licence for over 10 years.

I would be interested to see if anyone else has this type of diabetes, as I would need some advice about putting on weight rather than loosing it and driving etc.

I have just been diagnosed with CFRD. I have had CF since i was 17 so fairly late in life. In the last 10 years i have needed more and more hosiptal admissions for infections and my sugar intolerance has always been "on the border". With this latest infection/exacerbation following the flu, i am now on my second course of ivs and have started insulin. Looks like for ever now. So all fun!
Sounds like you have had to look after yourself for much longer though. What do you do to look after yourself? especially diet and exercise wise? Where are you looked after? Im at Brompton.
