How do you treat cystitis apart from plenty of water. Are cystitis relief sachet ok to use (sodium Citrate) :?

If you're not sure about the sachets, just ask to chat to the pharmacist. They can be helpful.

Some people find relief by drinking cranberry juice.But...you must check with your doctor on this one as cranberry interacts with certain drugs, specifically blood thinners.

There's also some evidence that cranberry juice aids the operation of some of the specific antibiotics used for UTIs, also worth asking about (BUT obviously be wary of its effect on your BG, high BG feeds most bacteria rather nicely)

Last year I had endless bouts of thrush and cystitus, and I mean ENDLESS .. basically I'd be crunched up over the loo on a weekly basis ... and since being diagnosed diabetic and taking to low carb route, I have not had ONE single infection (touch wood!) /// I feel that high blood sugars can give a perfect environment for both thrush and cystitus ... I'm not a doctor, just somebody who had a lot of cystitus! In reducing the BGs to almost non-diabetic numbers I've reduced my incidence by 100% ... something to think about!! all the best, hope you get some relief soon xxx
