My dad is almost 72. He has had type 2 for about 22 years. Recently he had a bleed in his left eye and was advised that was down to his bp being high and has been having lazer treatment for that. However his vision isn't great in that eye. Yes he sufferes with that too. However, recently he suffered a cold/chesty cough and was put on antibiotics. His blood sugars have gone all over the places as you would expect. However, now he has blurry vision in his right eye which seems to be getting slightly better. My concern is, his blood sugars seem to be up and down a lot of the time. He is waiting for an appointment to see the dr at the hospital but that might take a few months.
My concern is his vision might deterate more. I had type 2 when i was pregnant with my second child so i have some understanding of diabeties and it runs in the family.
Can anyone give me any advice on what we can do, i feel like the doctors are dragging their feet a bit.
