I assume every body with type 2 diabetes has some damage or impairment to their pancreas. Correct me if I'm wrong.
What I'd like to know is can you tell how much damage has been done. Is there a relationship with how well you react to food.
For instance my evening meal today was a chicken and bacon bake with cheese sauce and some veg. The meal contained 25 gms of carbs and about 600 calories.
Before the meal my BG was 5.3 mmol/l and 2 hours after it was 6.2 mmol/l.
Does that say anything about how well my pancreas is working.
The only medication I'm on is 500 mg of metformin 3 times per day.
