Hi, my HbA1C has gone up to 68 and my doctor is recommending I go onto Dapagliflozin. Having read the information leaflet he sent with it I am rather apprehensive about taking it. I am currently on 1 glicozide and 4 metformin per day. To be honest I'm not the best at cutting out carbs - I am on my own and a sandwich is my go to meal in the evening.
Any help or advise, on the tablets and/or quick low carb meals would be great. I have given up sugar in drinks and stopped drinking alcohol completely.
Thanks,
Karen

I have recntly given up taking Dapagliflozin for the second time. First time I had a very severe UTI that threatened my kidneys, and needed very severe telling off by a powerful antibiotic. Second time I started to get symptoms that was leading to anal fissures, and could have become gangrenous if not dealt with. On top of that, it did nothing for my blood sugars on either occasion.

Do you have a meter and test what you eat?
I find that when I see what a sandwich does to my bg it's very easy not to want a sandwich again!

Easy meals
Buy sliced cheese and cold meats such as ham or chorizo. Roll one around the other , perhaps with some salad or coleslaw in the middle. Eat and enjoy,

Scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, omelette
High meat % sausages. Read the labels, most supermarkets do a 90 or 95% one.
Chicken drumsticks or thighs (cook a few a ahead)

10% fat greek yoghurt with nuts and a few berries. Or same with seeds thickens nicely

Cheese!
