Dapagliflozin

I was on a regime of Metformin and Linagliptin for several years. My hba1c ranged from 42 to 50 (50 when I had overindulged).
Last autumn the surgery pharmacist wanted to swap the Linagliptin for Dapagliflozin. He sold it as a wonder drug. I read up on it but the side effects sounded worrying. I agreed to give it a try and got my first ever uti after a few weeks.
My hba1c has risen and my recent one was 71. It's never been anywhere near as high ever since I was diagnosed 20 years ago. I haven't changed my eating habits.
It seems obvious to me that my body misses the Linagliptin. I have an appointment with the practice nurse on Friday so I am going to tell her I want to either swap back to Metformin and Linagliptin or just add Dapagliflozin to the other two. The Dapagliflozin is having a positive effect on my BP.
Has anyone else experienced this or has any thoughts?

I am on Metformin and Alogliptin which is another DPP-4 inhibitor.
I added Dap a while back.
This has improved my BG control quite a bit.
When I had minor surgery recently I had to stop the DAP and (apart from the extra effects of a GA) I could see that my BG control was much poorer.
It has improved again now I am back on the Dap.

I am therefore a fan.
It might be worth trying both Dap and the gliptin together if your medical team are happy.

Thanks for your reply, I'm glad it works for you. I am going to say I'd like to try Linagliptin plus the Dap and Metformin and see how I go.
