Hi I am new to this forum. I have been Type II Diabetic for many years. I am almost 83 and lately my blood sugars have been very high. I have been on Metformin and Linigliptin for a long time and now, the medics feel that Metformin is working against me, damaging my kidneys. They want to take me off Metformin and start on Dapagliflozin which they say is better for protecting the kidneys. Is there anybody out there who has experience of Dapagliflozin?

Hi @PJs Mum , I'm sorry to hear that your blood glucose has been very high lately.
I don't have experience with dapagliflozin or any other flozins, but they tend to be very effective for lowering blood glucose.
It makes you pee out excess glucose, so you might want to watch out for yeast infections.

Good luck, I hope your new medication works well for you!
I'm on it and it hasn't affected my BG at all
Hi @Outlier , it's wonderful to see you around again after all this time!
I hope you're still making progress with your recovery. Would you like to tell us how you are on the thread you started after you ended up in hospital in July? It's here: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/did-you-miss-me.209862/page-2
