DAPHNE Course

I have just inquired at my local diabetes centre (Tunbridge Wells, Kent) and have been told that I am not eligible to attend Daphne as I am Type 2 - even though I am insulin dependent. Is this normal. I did not realise that it is only for Type 1s.
