Dario Lite vs Normal Dario

I just got myself a Dario Lite as the GPs are happy to prescribe the strips as they are the same price as my previous meter.

I really wanted the full version so I didn't have to have a separate lancet etcetc... Just wondering if anyone knows if I got the full version if the meter/ strips are interchangeable?

From all the pictures they look identical to me and if so can't see why I can't decant the strips and swap the meter in the little holder?

Would love some other views.

Hello, I have a Dario smart meter and it's fantastic!

From what I'm seeing, it would appear that the Dario Lite is targeted at the type 2 diabetes market. I'm thinking this because the Lite test strips are cheaper than the strips for the Dario smart meter. The Dario smart meter strips are available on prescription for those who are eligible (i.e. type 1 diabetics/type 2 insulin dependant diabetics). From this, I'd imagine that the Lite strips will not work with the Dario smart meter.

Considering you've had the Lite strips prescribed anyway, ask if you can swap to the smart meter strips. You may have to argue your case considering they're more costly but if you don't ask then you don't get

If you are a type 2 diabetic on insulin therapy, or a type 1 diabetic - then you should be able to get the lancets and test strips for the Dario Smart Meter on prescription - I have them on mine.
