Thanks Oldgreymare! :-) I have my Master's Degree in Physiology!!!! :-) I teach at a community college. Your response pretty much matches my skepticism of this new plan...... I was willing to try it for a week or so, but the results have stunk. My fasting blood glucose just keeps going up and up with this plan. It's clearly not working for me. Another thing we have in common is that I also self-fund my Dexcom. :-) $350/month! Sheesh. Sometimes I take a month off to save $$ and just rely on finger sticks. Fascinating about your T1D diagnosis at age 51. Do you think you had a low-level autoimmune response for many years/decades before diagnosis? I'd love to hear more of your story. I am starting to wonder if I do have a combo form of blood sugar issues - perhaps some difficulty with insulin production as well as insulin resistance. My grandmother had T2D, and so I always assumed I was as straightforward as that. But I am not overweight and still struggle with my glucose responses. I appreciate your encouragement to not get stressed. That's exactly what's been going on with me recently. Sometimes I get in a funk with my blood sugar - usually after a period of extreme restrictiveness with limited benefit (sort of like LaODan said). And last - love your avatar name and the lovely horse.
