Daughters first night on insulin

Hi Jane
i am so pleased for Sophie and glad her HBAC1C is now down to 9.2 and she is putting on a bit of weight
It is so nice to see and hear that people who are on pumps are doing better. I have been fighting for the last 10 years to get a pump, the reason they gave me for not getting a pump was that my HBAC1C has been 6.2 for many years, but what they dont understand is that I have been injecting up to 10 times per day and at least 4 hypos a day. And I also mentioned going to bed with a BG of 5 ish and at 1am ish it had gone up to 12+.
and taking a risk of injecting more insulin, it was only when I changed hospitals that my new consultant listened to me. My results are excellent at the moment, I saw the REP on Friday and she said, that she thought I was the type of diabetic that was very serious when she went through the pump with me.
I have had a couple of highs and a couple of lows other wise BG is between 4-9
Please send my love to Sophie and a big kiss from me Jane for your hard work with Sophie
Keep in touch
Kev xx
