Today at this month’s PPG meeting, after covering the meeting agenda on treating T2 diabetes, I was offered the surgery notice board in the waiting room. This last month’s focus has been flu vaccinations.

I have the use of the notice board up until early December.

The question is @DCUKMod , do I need permission to be able to include the diabetes.co.uk name / site on the local NHS surgery noticeboard? The idea of course is that all patients visiting the surgery for the next month will see it as they wait for their appointment.

Yes, if you intend using DCUK's name and assets, DCUK needs to see things in context. Blanket approval will not be given. It is content/image specific.

If you email [email protected], including the draft copy of what you need approved, you will receive a response.

It would not be a case of using the name or assets. It would be a case of free advertising for diabetes.co.uk

We do not have a notice board at the practice I go to, most people who are waiting have their nose stuck in their mobile phone sucking up the free wifi that the practise offers.

There are two monitors that show a closed loop advertorial, that most people ignore that would be the closest thing to one.

I look at ours.

There is also the closed loop advertorial that sits above the noticeboard.

I'm sure you'll have a draft, or printer artwork available.

We cannot afford artwork. It might well be in a standard font in letters large enough to catch the eye.

Are you sure you want to turn down free advertising?

Edit: do you have any flyers or leaflets?

Nobody is turning down "free advertising". DCUK Needs to protect their assets.

If you email your poster, I doubt approval would witheld, provided your poster is as you state.

No need. The ready made DCUK posters will suffice.
Well done @Listlad for your tenacity. Hope the noticeboard gives lots of food for thought........... low carb of course. I always read the notice boards as do most patients in our health centre, nobody has their nose stuck in a mobile as the practice policy is to switch it off. I'd luv to see what the finished board looks like

The timing is perfect as it is Diabetes Awareness Month and I now have a couple of the ready made DCUK posters printed and ready to go up on the surgery noticeboard in the waiting area to be read by those that can be bothered to look at them (ref @Tipetoo ). This has saved me some time and am less likely to be pursued for copyright infringement this way. They will stay on the surgery noticeboard for a month.
