Hi! I seem to be struggling with my hypos. I go on a massive sugar rampage it's like it's out of my control. How do you lot manage this? Even when sugars have stabilised I'm craving sweets and more than often go into hyper as a result xx

I'm the same, when I go hypo I just want to eat the whole house! Food seems to taste even better when hypo....

Not sure there's anything you can do other than try to restrain yourself (or ask your family/partner to restrain you!).

I've learnt that it's important to be patient, too. I used to panic and down a glucose juice plus other things. Now I know that glucose juice alone will do the job, I just need to give it 10 minutes to kick in.

Yes, I know what this is like, @livbo90. When I go low now, I try to restrict myself to the correct number of (not very nice) glucose tablets, treating my hypo with the 'medicine' it needs. Otherwise, like you say, the sugar-giving treats can descend into a sugar rampage which will cause a massive hyper, and the well-known diabetes roller coaster.
A halfway house is to use jelly babies, but think of them as medicine to treat your hypo, rather than a treat you crave. Reward yourself later with something healthy that won't spike your blood sugar. You will get a spike, anyway, if you have gone hypo. You don't want to make the spike worse by eating loads of sugar.
Sugar addiction is a problem for many people with diabetes, so we need to give sugar the heave-ho.
