Hello WWW

Could you explain a bit more about your eating problem, if you dont mind? Is it the feel of food in your mouth, or the taste, or swallowing?

Hi there lucylocket61.......I like your name.

It's simply that I can't face food at times, and it can be regular.

Have you ever heard of anyone going through a severe trial of some sort mention, "they can't face food".
Well, that's what I experience and it's difficult to explain why. It's not the feel or taste or swallowing, it's simply that I go off eating.

I'll be hungry, my stomach will be rumbling with an added feeling of a sort of nervousness in the pit of tummy.

It's a dash nuisance on those days as the only thing I can contemplate eating is fruit etc, as I mentioned previously.

Hope you get a gist of that explanation.

I'd be happy to answer further.

I experienced that when I had anxiety issues. It was a vicious cycle as the less I ate, the less I wanted food, even though my stomach was growling. The hunger made me feel panicky, and nervous, and so it went on. I had venlafaxine XR for a while, and that did the trick for me, plus some counselling on other issues which were contributing to my anxiety.

Have you mentioned this to your doctor? It could be that an anti-anxiety drug may help to break the cycles. Or it could be a side effect of one or more of your meds.

best wishes.

Hi again lucylocket61.
I too fall victim to stress (my doctor knows about it)

It goes waaaay back to my childhood days and was caused by my parents, particularly my father. (both gone now)
I never associated my eating problems with my eating habits however, I'll seriously give it some thought now that you mention it.

The possibility of other meds was worth mentioning. I never read any possible side effects of meds unless I feel something has gone haywire.
Perhaps that "unless" time is now, so that's something else I must check out.

I was pleased to read your reply.
Thank you.
