It's just odd, I keep waking early still with this slight urge of wanting to pee but when I do go, like this morning for example around 545am I only voided around 200ml which is not much and I can easily hold this in during the day. So I guess this is just the urine produced overnight? That shouldn't wake me up though. Could be the anxiety because I figured if it were prostate issues I would have more obvious symptoms during the day too and also pain, burning etc?
I assume you are a male. otherwise discussing prostate would be pointless. I had issues with retention, but the ulltrasound and finger tests showed a normal size organ. I had no blood indicators showing prostate problem, and the special blood test that followed showed no issue. Apart from the symptoms you describe, the only other sign was a repeating UTI that needed strong ju-ju to shift. But I was given a medication to ease the problem, and it has been fine since. It's just odd, I keep waking early still with this slight urge of wanting to pee but when I do go, like this morning for example around 545am I only voided around 200ml which is not much and I can easily hold this in during the day. The absorption rate of imbibed water varies but can take up to 2 hours to be fully absorbed, depending on what you've eaten, amongst other things. Have you tried not eating or drinking for 4 hours before you go to bed? Are you taking any medications or supplements that could have a diuretic effect? Thanks for the replies. I have been to the doctor now like three times and each time my urine sample comes back negative so there's nothing more to be done as he says my symptoms are too mild and vague.
So what looking back is figured out what this is... I'm having bouts of frequent urination not frequent urination itself as it only happens on some days then not on others. So I'll have three or more days maybe where I'm totally fine, normal urination etc. then suddenly I'll have this bout where I'll go a few times in succession. During this time my pee is clear, almost white colour but what's bothering me is where this extra urine is coming from. I haven't changed my diet or fluid intake. For example last few days I've been totally fine, even slept fine without going but then last night I had a large cup of non caffeine tea, emptied my bladder maybe 40 mins later but then couldn't get to sleep because I was having that sensation like I needed to go again and did go and voided like a fairly decent amount with that clear almost white colour. Where did this come from if I had just voided a short while ago? Still no pain or burning or anything severe before or after peeing.
Then the next day I'm fine again.
The doctor has no idea about this. It's not high blood sugar as I checked my bs during one of these bouts and it was normal. It's not the mirtazapine / remeron as this is not a known side effect. And like I said no infection or uti as urinalysis is always negative. Doctor didn't mention prostate issues, firstly due to my age and secondly because I'm not having any prostate symptoms.
It may seem obsessive but then it is just worrying because I've never had this before and occasionally affecting my sleep now too. So have no idea what to do apart from requesting an urologist appointment. God knows how long that will take.

Please get yourself a PSA test I had prostate cancer 7 years ago, only symptom being going to toilet in night and nothing happening. Certainly no pain at all. The earlier caught the better the result, it may not be prostate at all but worth checking out. It's just odd, I keep waking early still with this slight urge of wanting to pee but when I do go, like this morning for example around 545am I only voided around 200ml which is not much and I can easily hold this in during the day. Polyuria is defined as a urinary output of more than 3 litres in a day. https://patient.info/doctor/polyuria If it happens again, I would see your GP for investigation and take your results with you, including how much you've been drinking.@Mep I have been doing exactly that so far. Although at times I have forgotten my voiding and intake amounts and on days where I've had normal urination simply because I was my normal self and didn't think about it. It's on days when I started getting this is when I worry and become on edge.
So some of my results -
DEC
24 - EXCESSIVE - 2.72l - drank around less I'm sure
26 - Normal - Around 1.5l
27 - EXCESSIVE - 3.35 l - drank around 2.5 litres
28/29 - Normal Under 1.5l
30/31 - Normal - Under 1.5l
JAN
01 - Normal - Under 1.5l
02 - Normal - 1.65l
Today 05/01 I am at just over 2l already, having drunk around 2l.
