I go to the toilet a lot during the day (average about 17 times), but I don't void that much at times and even though I feel like I'm going to burst, only a really small amount comes out (which isn't normal as my urologist said your bladder should fully empty every time you go). I'm seeing a physio for pelvic floor therapy. Part of the treatment is using an ultrasound to see what your bladder is doing and how much urine you're holding. They tell me how much I have in there and ask me to go and void. I go away and come back to find I've only voided half of it... not like I didn't try. But it's a problem as I mentioned previously because it goes stale the longer it's left in the bladder and can breed bacteria. At least for me I know what my cause is, you don't as yet. I hope you get some answers. [QUOTE="Mep, post: 1653377, member: 211362"] Yeh, it's best to see your doc as it could be absolutely anything going on. Retention has a number of causes which your doc will have to work out what the cause for you is. It's when you have chronic retention that your doc may then make decisions about how to deal with it as they have with me.
