Dentist and BS Levels

Hi All,
maybe someone can answer that one.
My fasting BS levels are up from 5.2 to 5.6. This has been the case since I have seen a dentist a week ago, getting a tooth prepared for a crown. Dentist had to numb the gums and cut the tooth in shape to accomodade the crown. I am still suffering from 'tender' and swollen gums due to the 'manipulations'. Could this be the reason for those elevated numbers? or what else could be the problem?
Thanks
Anna

Stress can cause raised blood sugar, it might just be that you are worried and in pain. Any lack of sleep due to pain won't help either. Also infections can caused raised blood sugar, are you going back soon to get the crown, the dentist can see if it looks infected then.

Hi,
thanks for your reply. Won't see dentist until the 22 this months. Might give him a call next week, see what he thinks.
