Is there nothing at all that he can eat ??
type 2, diet only.
Creme Fraiche with a few berries
Jelly made without sugar ( they exist)
Fergus's cheesecake
Meringues made with Splenda. Add a little fructose for texture
Natural Greek yogurt with a dribble of Da vinci syrup
Sweet omelettes, with a few berries and cream
Biscuits made with nuts instead of flour.
That's just a few off the top of my head
All are to be made at home
Low carb megastore sells some ready made stuff.

Fergus's cheesecake is heaven. I made one to take with my for a short stay with family in South Wales. they wolfed it and none of them is diabetic.
If you can't find the recipe, pm me and I'll email it to you
the sweet omelette is brill too and you can make pavlova with Splenda( I add a little fructose for the texture) Fructose tends to produce triglycerides, so I keep it for treats only.
A 100g tub of mascapone cheese, a large teaspoonful of instant coffee (dissolved in a little water)to taste and a little Splenda to taste. Mix it all up. Chill, eat - serves 2-3 depending on portion size. Less than 5 carbs.
Mascapone cheese is wonderful as a base for desserts. I have also used some melted high cocoa chocolate to mahe a chocolate dessert and I plan to experiment with all kinds of other things witht he mascapone
Since I dropped the carbs I have found that I have lost what little sweet tooth I had. My downfall was always toast and crisps and potato.
oooooh  I must try this !! I have a very sweet tooth. In fact I have a full set of them  I could happily miss main course and eat two desserts... I will look into this stuff.
Purely for research.
