Hi all you wonderfully helpful people.
My sons been t1.since he copped ketoacidosis when he was 6 and barely made it no thanks to ahole GP who never done his job. Sorry rant over it just wrankles still.
Anyway he is now 16 and we've been on g6 for a few years now and now looking at going into g7 but see some mixed reviews so I thought I'd ask you good people your experience/views.

My son has been my hero for the last 10 years since I've watched him go from a happy outrageous funny wee dude to some times fragile and angry and resentful and, well, you all know the rest he still.always asks why did he get it? Sorry I keep veering off track. What's your thoughts on g7? Am I better sticking with g6 or will they phase that out.
As always thankyou all so much in advance for any and all feedback.

Hi I am an Omnipod 5 and Dexcom G7 user since December 2026. For me I have found it much better than Libre 2+ which I used previously. It can be a bit eratic for the first 24/48 hours, after that it settles down. The warm up period is only 25 mins. Unlike Dexcom G6 there is no transmitter so it is smaller.

Hope this helps. Any questions please let me know

I was a g6 user for several years before the g7 and prefer the g7 - much shorter warm up time and a 12 hour grace period after the sensor ends.

Hi all I’m type 2 diabetic just started a free trial with Dexcom one plus. Before using this I used the normal finger pricking machine and my fasted sugars were always around 8-10 and since using the Dexcom as soon as I eat anything like porridge or lunch it shoots up to like 17/18 mmol which is worrying. I’m taking Vildagliptin 50/1000mg and gliclazide 160mg twice a day
