Dexcom g4 or g5 and receivers?

I think it depends what you want out of it @Layah2013. If you want to be able to monitor from a different location, then the G5 comes with those options built in. If you go with the G4, you will need to do some build it yourself work.
 
Personally I think the G4 is a better option from a cost and functionality point of view, so I find the G4 the best option for me. I get 30 days out of each and every sensor, and have the Animas Vibe pump for integration, so now don't even need to carry the separate receiver any more. Before getting the pump, I had the xdrip, so also had the data viewable on my phone and smartwatch, but for me, the overriding factors for the G4 are the lifetime of the transmitter (> 12mths), integration with the Animas Vibe, and you still maintain the ability to integrate with phones and watches and share data online if you want (but you do need the extra kit for that unfortunately) if you want

The Dexcom G4 starter kit comes with receiver, transmitter and sensors. This allows full view of data and graphs on the transmitter. To transmit to a phone (I have an android), I bought the xDrip box, mostly ready built from http://xdripkit.co.uk/, but there was a tiny bit of soldering yourself if I remember correctly, but I managed it, without too much swearing :happy:;)
You can then download the nightscout app to get the mobile apps and watchfaces, so do a google for "wearenotwaiting"
EDIT: it is easier if you have the dexcom transmitter ID when you buy the xDrip, so its best not to buy [the xdrip] in advance.
