Dextrose everytime... Dislike Lucozade and know I'd not have the willpower to not stop @ 3/4 jelly beans! Did buy a small tube of Glucotabs to try as Dextrose can be easily broken but when I had a hypo I couldn't take the lid off... so resorted to drinking a small full fat coke
True, the Glucotab lid is too difficult. I tried to break the seal with a knife last time, how daft is that? All fingers and thumbs, desperation, hypo and knife? Not a good combination! Glucotab, TAKE NOTE!
GlucoTabs are easier to swallow. Dextro energy are rectangular and the shape feels unnatural in your mouth, which is why I resisted being force fed them. Plus the GlucoTab packaging doesn't let them get mashed to powder if they're in your bag.
For speed I prefer Lucozde, but of the two options it's Dextro tablets for me. Blackcurrant or tropical preferable
I buy a box on Amazon and that lasts me ages. I prefer them to Glucotabs as they're cheaper, squarer so fit neatly in bags, etc, have nicer flavours and are more widely available.
I also sometimes have jelly babies or he little packs of children's sweets (3 for £1) or Haribos or fudge - whatever I have around. Typically, when there's something yummy but very sweet in the house (like posh fudge) I think to myself ""Ooh, I'll have that if I go low" - but then forget in the heat of the hypo! Duh!
