Hi Gina,
I too, was diagnosed with type 2 about a year & a half to two years ago. I am not in control of it as it hadnt really sunk in but it is now. I too am hoping for advice from this site as I am hardly sleeping and feeling tired all the time.

However, I also have had diabetes insipidus due to a head injury in 1981. As far as I am aware, there is no cure for this. It has nothing to do with your lifestyle or eating/drinking habits, so the only advice that I can give, is to make sure that you take your medication & see a specialist regularly, usually at the out-patients. Not many people have heard of diabetes insipidus, let alone understand it, not even GP's. I was originally on Syntopressin nasal spray & thought it was the only medication for it, so stayed away from the specialist for years, even though it wasnt that helpful but had improved it a little. After about 10 years, I eventually went back to the specialist who changed the medication to Desmopressin (DDAVP) oral tablets which have worked a lot better. I have also had 3 deprivation test, but the hospital lost my results each time so I havent been back for a number of years. They also gave me an mri scan but couldnt see anything wrong. oh, forgot to mention. when having the deprivation test, at the end of the day, they injected me with medication but I dont know what one. The injection is what I have found most effective.

I hope this helps
