Hiya guys so been lurking since being diagnosed last June. Have pretty much much learnt everything I know from looking on this forum thanks :) just wanna be able to talk to peeps who get it :)

Even just posting on here scares the hell outta me cos it makes it real. Still in a bit of denial n scared

Hi me too. I've been lurking and learning for 7 years on here! This is my first post too ...... scary. I was diagnosed LADA 2010 and had a long honeymoon period after learning about lchf on here. Been on Lantus and Humolog just over a year.

Hey! How long was your honeymoon? I was diagnosed a year n half ago but still on tiny amounts of both lantus n novorapid .

Nah it is rubbish but at least we have decentish healthcare n access to insulin so even though it's very hard work, some, most of the time, we are very lucky to live in this day n ages where we do

Honeymoon was 7 years. I was diagnosed and given GAD test etc after a well-woman appointment found very high BG so it surprised everyone. I'd had no symptoms at that point so they found it just in time. I've done DAFNE course which was very helpful and read Think Like a Pancreas. At the moment I'm on split Lantus 4 and 5 units and 1:10 Humolog. I'm still learning but this forum has helped so much.

Rah 7 years ! I got flu n then after that couldn't stop drinking weeing n eyes were dead blurry. Its like it happened overnight. Felt so ill n just exhausted. went doctor cos I thought I had an uti or something but luckily he picked it up straight away n by then had lost 1 n half stone eeeek. Had no idea. But been on insulin ever since but such tiny amounts so far. I am really sensitive to it as well apparently only 7 lantus n 1:30 novorapid for lunch n dinner only 1:40 but nothing for brekkie so far

Have read think like a pancreas too but yep found this forum straight after diagnosis n has helped so much ! Pretty much learnt everything I know from it :)
