Diabetes affecting fertility????

I came across this article which claims that diabetes can have an effect on fertility, which has shocked me a little as I've never heard this before. Has anyone heard this before?

Hi VAJ1985 I haven't heard of that myself, and it wasn't mentioned to me when I told the diabetes doctor that we were trying, but I had my daughter at 42 :D before that I did have a misscarraige at 8 weeks, 2 years earlier. RRB
