Hi all,
Was just wondering how many diabetics had asthma?
After months of query chest infections GP and I agree that if have asthma.
Having done abit of research have found a few studies about a link between the two, my control has not been good and in research it seems to say that untreated asthma has a negative affect on diabetes control. Has anyone else found this?
Thanks in advance

I wasn't aware there was a link between the two; I'll 'bump' your post up the forum in the hope that someone answers your question.

I have both asthma and T1 diabetes (47 years) but the two have never been linked. I have always suffered badly with chest infections though which always need a course of antibiotics, and this has been put down to my diabetes.

I have asthma and type 2. Not aware of any direct links, but ai am also highly prone to chest infections and had pnuemonia about 6 weeks before I got my diabetes diagnosis, so often wondered it was the infection that pushed me from prediabetes to diabetes, I'd been well controlled for a few years until then.
