Diabetes and bad skin/spots?

So, I've suffer with really oily skin and consequently I'm often getting outbreaks. Which really aren't pleasant, and damage self-esteem and confidence.

The doctors for a long time argued that it must be genetics/puberty.

However, I recently read an article which said that Diabetes can cause oily skin because there is no continuous flow of insulin or something like this. (I didn't quite understand).

I was just wondering if anyone knew anymore about this?/ also suffers with oily skin as a type one diabetic?

When my BG's were high my skin was terrible! Acne,boils,abscesses under my arm the lot and I was always having to take antibiotics to deal with them but after I gained control it all improved massively luckily.
 
I use a blemish stick by witch. You can get them in boots for £2.09 and it gets rid of spots and blemishes. It's really handy to have around. I swear by it now x

I've suffered with adult onset acne that specialists say may or may not be diabetes related. Might also be to do with menopause but I feel it's more than likely diabetes. They started me on Roaccutaine last year but my BGS went haywire so I didn't persist with them. I think it may have been stress as well as I'd read such bad things about the tablets.
To be honest, I have found no cream, spray or antibiotics that clears it (that includes doctors stuff as well). Sorry I don't know more about what you read. I have just about given up on finding anything that helps. Sun seems to worsen my skin and make it more oily which is strange, I recently bought a Lumie lamp but again after 3 months of 30 mins per night there's been no improvement.
