Lies,
Anyone else think Diabetes is compulsive disorder?

I'm convinced I have a compulsive disorder. I can go weeks without cravings then bam! I get one and can't stop myself having a biscuit.

Comments (good or bad) welcomed.

Carb craves are the norm on this site. I would not call it a compulsion as in OCD terms, but it is similar to smoking and can be difficult to shake off especially if trying to follow a low carb diet. Try nibbling on some cheese, or making a bulletproof coffee instead of the biscuit. The one rule that seems to apply is that a single carb binge will trigger follow on binges ad nauseam. So giving in to the biscuit will make it worse. This is why distraction therapy may work in that eating a low carb high fat snack may assuage the craving. Avacado is also good for this, I believe.

What is your BS like normally? I don’t think the occasional biscuit will do you too much harm - I have the odd biscuit or cake and find that I don’t crave for more.

I'm not sure an avocado is going to do it for me when the urge strikes personally, but why not make a batch of low carb biscuits?
