Diabetes and my foot

Hello to you all I new to this site I was diagnosed with type 2 dieabtices before Xmas I tried diet control for the first 3months I lost weight put my sugars leaves went up even more so I was put on 15000 mg of metaformin a day I'm due to be retested. Again in two weeks to see if the medication is helping.but my problem here is the last two weeks I've had problems with the one foot I got a lot of pain in the heel just below the ankle spreading round my ankle and going up the calf even when I'm resting it it's killing me also the foot is freezing cold I feel like I've got ice on my foot I've wore socks and trying warming it up but it still stone cold which is making the pain worser as anybody else had this and should I be worried I've got a doctors appointment next week thank you for you time Julie
