New on here!
I am 65 years old fairly fit, bit overweight but not grossly so, bloke diagnosed as type 2 three years ago and have recently been put on metaformin. Also have high blood pressure and take a cocktail of pills for that. A couple of years ago I had all the signs of a brain tumour but investigation showed the symptoms - tinnitus, face aches, headaches, dodgy vision - were due what was sometimes referred to as neurovascular small vessel disease and other times as a lacunar stroke. Diabetes and high blood pressure were put down as contributory factors to me copping that lot. Medical advice seems to be that all that can be done is to control the diabetes and blood pressure, which is being done. As for the rest, I'm told it might get better, might get worse or might stay the same. The only treatment option I have been offered is long term use of low dose anti-depressants as a pain/sensation control. I have decided that for the time being I will live with the irritations of the symptoms and avoid some more pills.
The question is whether anybody else out there has the same combination. If so, any tips?
