Hi everyone.
I am looking for a bit of advice.
My Husband and I were trying for a baby when I was diagnosed with type 1 in 2010. We put the baby thing on the back burner and got on with things. However I am still desperate for this baby and so I would like to know..... My sugars are not stable, varying daily between 2.0 and 23.0 I have an appointment coming up with my consultant. How long does it usually take to get your sugars under control once you know what you are doing? And how long after that can you start trying for a baby?

Ask to be referred to a pre conception clinic they can offer you all the advice you need can take a little while to get the referral through so hopefully in that time your consultant will have been able to add you on the right insulin programme for you it may be worth asking about a pump as well.

Ibn my dalings with Healthcare professionals, I've found the diabetes midwives to be excellent. go for their advice.
