Hello Community. I'd like to ask you for some help, advice or opinion. If a doctor is here, would be great, but the reaction of others is also appreaciated. I have a DM type 1 and I'd like to get a tattoo (I have already few of them), but this time, I want to have my whole arm have tattoo. Is there some risk, if I put my injections directly into the tattoo? Thank you very much for your reaction. Greetings form Czech Republic. Tomas

Your avatar says you have type 2 diabetes, but your post says you have type 1. Which is it?

How often do you inject into your arm? It's too fiddly and takes coordination I don't have to manage it.

I've seen people siting their pump cannula and CGMs over tattoo, so I don't think there's any issue with injecting into a tattoo. I would wait for the tattoo to be well & truly healed before considering injecting into it.

Hi, sorry.... put the type 2 by mistake. I have type 1. I put the injection 3 times a day in my arm.

Sure, I will wait, till the tattoo is fully healed. I want to be sure that tattoo ink is not absorbed through the insulin injection... also over time... like after 5 years etc. That's why I'm asking for experience of others... ;-)

Yeah, I’ve got an upper arm and shoulder sleeve, and inject into the deltoid muscle now and then with no problems. I use that muscle when I want my Novorapid to work quicker, so not all the time, but at least once a week.
