I've just carried out some research about the current state of diabetes awareness in Indonesia and it's quiet shocking!
At such a rapid growth it's estimated that out of a total population of 240 million people, 7.6 million have diabetes and less than half of those are aware of their condition. Even though the majority of those diagnosed with diabetes receive treatment, less than 1% achieve treatment targets. It's becoming such a burden over here on families and societies. Sadly, neither the government or the public fully comprehend the depths of diabetes.
It would be interesting to hear from other members as to how diabetes awareness is managed elsewhere.
