Went to my first diabetes clinic yesterday after being diagnosed about four months ago.
Nurse was very happy - happy that I had lost 17lb and very happy that my bg's were getting under control. 52% (works out at 6.9 I believe). Told her I was on low carb diet, didnt bother her in the slightest and agrees that we are behind the times in the UK with regards to diet for diabetes.
Cholestrol was no change, blood pressure perfect, blood test showed a bit of anaemia so got another blood test next Friday morning and the next Friday got to see doc for results. She said I didnt't look anaemic but could be a B12 deficiency. So we will see.
No mention of any meds this time so really glad about that. Would rather do by diet only for as long as possible.
