I really need some help with my research for a project and would greatly appreciate it if you could help.

Do you know anyone with diabetes that wouldn't mind giving a short paragraph or so about (A) their life in general about dealing with diabetes- how it effects daily activities
(B) personal viewpoints on the subject.
(C) Their viewpoint on why they think some patients with diabetes may or may not want to comply with their prescribed treatments.

Thanks for any help.

I would need to know much more about your project. Ie, what educational level? what is the research objective? What do you already know?

Hi Hana,
Thank you so much for your reply.

I'm a university student in my last year of my design course. I'm doing a project on designing some sort of product that would help someone with diabetes. -I'm not entirely sure what yet as it's still early days. I would greatly appreciate any views and opinions as it would be helpful as a starting point for new ideas. I know very basic information about diabetes from health magazines and books, but what would be really helpful is speaking to someone who can give their personal view and experiences.

Thank you.

If you could design a blood glucose meter with strips that cost very little, you'd be a life saver.
At the moment, many T2 diabetics are denied suficient test strips, mainly on cost grounds. Loads of us fund our own.

Not just type 2s in UK would benefit from cheaper blood glucose test strips, but also people with diabetes in developing world, many of whom struggle to afford medication, let alone blood glucose test kits.
As an example, for information about how Dr Helen Lee of Diagnostics for the Real World has produced test kits for chlamydia (a sexually transmitted infection), see http://www.wellcome.ac.uk/Funding/Techn ... 052911.htm
I'd support any design that can help as many people as possible - utilitarianism "greatest good for the greatest number"
