Type of diabetes
Type 1
I was hopeless at sport at school. The only team I was good enough to join was the chess team. There must be hundreds of people on this forum who were way better than me.
Yet playing chess and studying maths did pay off in the end. I could see through doctors' incompetent and unscientific advice.
Now, after decades of Type 1, I can outrun, outski and outclimb nearly all of the couple of thousand people I was at school with.
Things can get better, but if you persist with average treatment, you will probably end up with pretty average results. Take control.

Hi Nick, I must have a lot better advice and care than you as a child with diabetes, as had no problems with sports at all loved them in fact even running xcountry at county level plus hockey, mind you I did enjoy chess as well :) I'm not as fit as I was due to developing transverse myelitis but am getting there and that's with over half a century on insulin :)
