Oh makes sense now....so is your body still creating insulin or???It stands for latent autoimmune diabetes in adults. To the best of my knowledge, that essentially means type 1, coming on slowly in adulthood... Hope that helps

Oh I see! Could it be confused with type 2 then?In the early stages some people are still producing enough insulin to cope without medication, but insulin production decreases with the autoimmune attack over a number of months or years. If memory serves correctly from the stuff I've read, sufferers typically end up insulin dependant within 3-12 years of diagnosis. I've just been started on a tiny amount of insulin at night with a view to a gradual move over to full insulin management, which will be increased as the disease progresses.
Oh I see thats not good then! I see you are on metformin! How comes? You aren't type 2 though!? sorry for being nosey I am just curious lolI would guess there are many T2's out there who are currently wrongly diagnosed. Unfortunately, some of these tests to see if LADA or whatever are expensive and some docs won't grant them, GAD tests and C-Pep tests for instance.
I was told it helps with insulin sensitivity ? Apparently, it is being prescribed to many more T1's as it can help ?Oh I see thats not good then! I see you are on metformin! How comes? You aren't type 2 though!? sorry for being nosey I am just curious lol
Oh! Actually I can remember about 2 years ago my consultant was going to give me that but didnt in the end! Has it helped though?I was told it helps with insulin sensitivity ? Apparently, it is being prescribed to many more T1's as it can help ?
Not sure really. My BG levels are pretty good and my insulin ratio hasn't really changed much ( 1:10g ). I have always taken it since diagnosis. Maybe someone else who hasn't always taken it can advise ? I'd be interested myself.Oh! Actually I can remember about 2 years ago my consultant was going to give me that but didnt in the end!
