Hi, I have really good control of my glucose lvls. Mostly around 4 to 6.

Sometimes I find it hard to keep it going in a way. I live a strict life of routine. I eat at the same times each day etc. Sometimes I'm still so full from lunch that I want to skip supper. But I force something small down to take meds. That's my question really should I just skip a meal and meds if I'm not hungry?

Hi Sco81, your to be commended,do you portion control at all, since losing 58 lbs now, i find that if i weigh and measure my foods, i am never full, just satisfied, feeling like i could eat more......but i don't, clive

I do yes, but it's such small amounts like lunch would be equivalent of 1 round of sandwiches. And a piece of fruit. Dinner would be 1 chicken breast and veg. This does fill me up I don't eat all of that. I would say to eat until your comfortable. But chew properly and eat slow. Your body will tell u when u had enough. When u feel full h should stop eating. And by full I don't mean belt popping lol. I think u have done great so far tho Clive. Just think if u feel hungry the temptation to pick and nibble always gets the better of u in the end.

Hi Sco81, depends on your circumstances, I'm on Novorapid and Lantus, MDI. My Basal is more or less spot on so I can skip a meal no worries. Like most things with this, the only way to find out is to try and regularly test to see what your blood sugars doing and if it works out, great, if no try something different next time.

I am by no means an expert, far from it in fact! but....diabetes needs to fit into your life to a certain degree! Yes we all think about it, it is there all the time.... but if you want to skip supper you should be able to! This of course depends on your regime to a certain degree. Are you on basal, bolus regime? In which case that is the whole idea of that regime, Your basal should carry you if you skip a meal, If you are on another regime such as mixed insulins, that is a little more difficult.,.
It sounds like you already are on the ball with your diabetes, you are just fine tuning! :)

Yes, I guess without trying I won't know. Just don't see the point of eating for the sake of it. Even if it includes meds. Just don't want to suddenly feel hungry or low and eat late. I get issues sleeping with a full stomach. Which is why I have a strict routine. When my glucose were out of control my life was horrid. No energy no drive no life in my opinion. So how I have it now keeps me going because I feel normal. Which to me feels great. Thanks for your advice.
