Anonymous Question Diabetes runs in my family - are my levels OK?

Hello, I have not been diagnosed as a diabetic. It does run in my family however. I am 40. I do test my blood sugar with a home kit (I'm worried I will develop it) and it's usually (after fasting in the morning) about 5.3. Should I be worried?

Normal levels which is good! Although if you're still worried then test your blood 2 hours after eating your usual meal and if it's above 7.8 @ 2 hours,repeat the test the next day and if you still get a higher than 7.8 reading then go and see the doctor and explain your worries and see if you can get further tests.
