Hello,

Im almost 22, male

I had a fasting blood glucose test in January which came back as 4.3 which was obviously good!

Now, I have felt like this for a while quite tired after eating a large meal. So I went back to the doctors and asked for another test, so they gave me one and it came back normal again.

Doctor has not recommended any further testing.

Does this rule out Type 1 diabetes for me?

I dont have extreme thirst, could someone clarify this to me, is it like need a drink every 10 mins etc? how bad is it.

I have not lost or gained any weight.

Thanks

Also 3 weeks ago, I had a panic attack and called an ambulance, when they did the prick glucose test I had 11.3, I did eat a mcdonalds chicken nuggets, chips and coke about an hourish before that though, not sure if this boosts it up?

Scared of getting Ketosis before I get my blood results tomorrow!

11.3 is fine, it takes at least 2 hours for BG to return to normal. Particularly for things like chips which are high in fat and therefore slow digestion!

Before I was diagnosed I drank I minimum 4L a day while sitting at my desk at work. When out and about the need for a drink would suddenly hit me and if I had to wait even 5 minutes I got very agitated. I also I was constantly in the bathroom due to the amount if fluids!

I had a test 3 years ago and told I wasn't diabetic. February this year is lost 1.5st since Xmas and was referred straight to the hospital from one look at me. Doctors know what they're doing, your levels aren't alarmingly high, I was 18 fasting and 29 two hours after breakfast. And I'm in no way the person with the highest readings on here!

Diabetes occurs when the body cannot properly convert food into energy. It’s a chronic condition which is associated with long term complications that affects various parts of the body. Over time, the high glucose level caused by the diabetes can lead to several health problems. It may be necessary for you to visit an health care clinic if you consistently experience the following symptoms:

• Frequent urination
• Extreme thirst
• Extreme hunger
• Extreme tiredness
• Irritability
• Blurred vision
• Unexplained weight loss

It is also important for people with symptoms of diabetes to keep their blood pressure under 130/80.
