Message: <blockquote data-quote="desperate_dave" data-source="post: 98647" data-attributes="member: 22284">Hi sweetenuf,Yes, I have Type 2 Diabetes and Epilepsy.  I was diagnosed with Grand mal Epilepsy just over twenty years ago when I was still in my mid-30s when I started having inexplicable seizures.  A brain scan and CAT scan revealed I had “irregularities in the temporal lobe” (which is how the specialist described it).  At the time I had my own business as a TV aerial fitter, which obviously I had to give up.  It also meant I had to give up driving.  I’m on Epilim 200mg which I take three times a day and have been on them for the best part of sixteen years.  I still have seizures, sometimes I can have as many as nine a week while other times I can go three weeks without experiencing any at all.  But in my case, there is no particular pattern as and when my seizures take place.  The only exception to this is thunderstorms (particularly lightning) often seems to trigger a seizure.  I do suffer from pounding headaches following a seizure.I can’t say my Epilepsy has ever been a problem with my Diabetes (or vice versa).  It is however interesting that you say your hubby has suffered a couple of urine infections because I am currently experiencing a recurring Urinary Tract Infection, which has been ongoing since the beginning of May, but to be honest, I don’t think my Epilepsy has anything to do with it. I think mine is more down to poor control of my diabetes. I’m not suggesting the same applies to your hubby.I’m sorry I couldn’t be of much help but I do hope you manage to get everything sorted.Dave</blockquote>
