You've been diabetic about ass long as my husband, who also has multiple complications. they started after about 25 years too. It seems to take that long to get them going.
I wonder if you were give hopeless care like his too.
Every time he went to the clinic, it was "increase the insulin dose to ???. If he skipped an appointment, because he thought they were useless, they made no attempt to get him in.
However, I have got him to improve the situation, by reducing his carbs and his insulin. He's come down from 120 units a day to about 70. with MUCH better control at the same time. In addition, his retinopathy and kidney disease have stabilised.
