My word you certainly have been through the mill over the years, are you type1 or type2 diabetic? Tell what do you eat and do you test your bg levels?

I hope all goes well with your gallbladder operation, when is this happening? So the past 15 years have not been all that good, I hope the next 15 years will be so very much better, you have come to the right place here, there is lots and lots of information in this forum and the members are very experienced with all things diabetes so hopefully you can use some of the things in here to help you become healthier again.
Read through the forum Tilly and ask questions, there is always someone here who knows the answers and to give you support and comfort when you need it.

Sorry to hear about all your medical appointments. I am not the diabetic in the family, that honour belongs to my youngest son. I did get my gall bladder taken out when I was 23 and had a butcher of a surgeon. I have had problems since with scar tissue blocking my bile duct.

Diabetes is certainly a challenge. Have you had diabetic problems regardless of good management or have you been struggling for many years? It's just one day at a time.

Hi Tilly
You've been diabetic about ass long as my husband, who also has multiple complications. they started after about 25 years too. It seems to take that long to get them going.
I wonder if you were give hopeless care like his too.
Every time he went to the clinic, it was "increase the insulin dose to ???. If he skipped an appointment, because he thought they were useless, they made no attempt to get him in.
However, I have got him to improve the situation, by reducing his carbs and his insulin. He's come down from 120 units a day to about 70. with MUCH better control at the same time. In addition, his retinopathy and kidney disease have stabilised.
