Diabetic care

I don't feel that I'm getting the support from my gp and I'm considering asking to be referred to the hospital. I'm struggling to get .my blood sugar down despite losing weight and regular exercise. I'm convinced that something else is driving my diabetes but my GP says he's not interested in investigating this. I have haemochromatosis and pancreas damage is a possibility.
Has anyone found the care from hospital better than the GP?

Hi and welcome.

It would help folks to reply to you if you could give us a bit of info about the sort of diabetes you have, any medication you're on, what your last HbA1c was, and so on.

My experience as a T2 is that losing weight and exercise had (in practice) no impact on my blood glucose. Reducing carbs in my diet reduced my blood glucose really quickly, and weight loss and exercise followed on some time later.
