It has the same effect on me as Sprouts :***:. But I enjoy a couple of squares of 85% Moser Roth from Aldi or Green and Blacks organic. Mmmm
I can't eat anything with artificial sweetner. It not only upsets my stomach it also gives me a fuzzy headach, I get like a thunder pounding in my head. Also anything low cal, low fat good knows what is in that to make me so ill.I think the spread of comments here echo my long held belief that what's right for one is wrong for another. For example, my sister bought me a diabetic selection pack at Christmas. There's still a bit of it left and the box does state: "This products contains polyols and we recommend eating no more than 20g polyols per day due to potential laxative effects. However sensitive individuals may react to levels less than this."
As with all things, your mileage will vary. There are some of us that will be fine with the painkiller Kapake while others will be constipated. Some will get similar results with a 3-egg omelette.
I sometimes buy the Lindt 90%, have also tried their 98% too but it's very bitter, tho' ok if you put a little in your mouth and sip coffee through it. Something quite exquisite about coffee/ chocolate combinationI've discovered a couple dark chocolate brands which don't have much effect on my B/S. They're not labelled 'suitable for diabetics' and are way better than any diabetic branded rubbish.
They are :-
Lindt 90% ( there is also a 99 % variant)
vivani chocolate 92 (%)
both have around 13 g of Carbs per 100g
