First time I baked a cake after you know when and I was so happy that the pressure fryer could bake that I forgot for a moment I was sick and had a piece of the cake. Shot up to 15.5. Hohoho.
Finally sewed together a hoodie I finished knitting about six months ago and it's waaaaay too big
Sometimes when I knit too big I take a darning needle and stitch a columns together. Gives a texture and make it smaller.
You must show us your dresses.....Busy week this week. Made a lined lace shift dress and then a summer dress which buttons all the way down the back. Am pleased with my efforts this summer but guess it's about time to start making trousers for the autumn. I still have a fair bit of wardrobe space to fill after the mega clear out!
In response to the comment about stitching columns together:
I bet that looks really good. I wish I had the patience to knit. There are bags with half-finished items tucked away all over my house.
It's more a matter of looking at knitted things and not being satisfied with the quality
You never can tell when it's all in bits...try finishing one of those bits and bobs...I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised once it's made up.It's more a matter of looking at knitted things and not being satisfied with the quality
I've never, ever done that but then I never work in wool, just acrylic mixes or cottons (so no blocking and pressing which would ruin those) None of us can wear wool..The key to good knitting, is blocking your work after its sewn up, it brings all the stitches together and makes them look uniform.
.....and eating........I have always enjoyed knitting and have begun writing patterns. Designing is a new and exciting challenge that takes my mind away from carb counting
I don't knit with wool either, I knit with cotton or cotton mix, I always block them and they look lovely when they are done, all proper finished. But each to their own.I've never, ever done that but then I never work in wool, just acrylic mixes or cottons (so no blocking and pressing which would ruin those) None of us can wear wool..
