nope. Never done it like that. Sounds really strange to me lol. I hold the needles in my hands, the way my grandmother taught me, with the wool wrapped around my index finger.

No, never seen arm knitting. - Don't your boobs get in the way??
I guess only one needle is under my arm, the left and the other my hand. Mmm, now IS the yarn around my index finger or not....nope, don't think it is. Just had to mime myself knitting to work that one out

No lol. :D

I want to do some Celtic patterns on a piece of brass I have, need inspiration for the design and going to plan it out first then trace the design onto it before engraving. I need to practice first on small spare bits as it's easy to let the engraving needle slip on flush metals especially soft ones like brass. :)

Me too but we still have to use our fingers to hold the ends, put the needlepoint in the the next stitch and wrap the wool around....I really can't think of any other way very puzzling

Google it. What can up when I did was using your arms like you would the needles.

I knit in the same way as you, including the yarn round the fore finger.

Yes it does Lizzie. I think the key is really looking at your body shape because the adjustments you make will be aimed at getting similar results time on time.

Good. I just need to make a 1 cm reduction on each shoulder, but that is all, so I am pleased. But as I am hoping to lose weight I shall have to do this again if (I should say when) I do.

Doing another day on darts and sleeves in a fortnight, so looking forward to that. The one I really want to do is trousers as I simply can't get them to fit, long legs, short waist and curvy - they just don't make them that shape.

Interesting though.

Have you seen the Simplicity Amazing Fit patterns? They are designed for slim, average and curvy bodies.

Honestly though I may have to start doing it. Thai lion air stopped me from knitting saying it will harm other passengers. The flight was rather empty there was no one next to me or even across the aisle so I guess my 5.5mm circular bamboo needles could explode and harm passengers two seats in front.

Lol, I'm surprised you were allowed to take the needles on the plane in the first place!

How on earth can knitting harm anyone . I did pull a muscle once...in my upper arm....

They'd be VERY big stitches....gives a whole new meaning to tying yourself in knots
And how would you ever put it down?

Not to mention that you'd never be able to get a consistent tension since everyone's arms are different diameters. I think I prefer my needles.....
