Having to take these soul destroying injections. Believe me I've asked to go back on my original tablets numerous times,. And the DVLA Medical section.
I am with you on this, with the experience I've had with the DVLA medical centre, I've told them straight that if you take Insulin your treated no different to a drug addict on class A drugs. totally heartless bunch. Trying to get a job is another thing! It's a cure they need, not lining the pockets of these drug companies.
There has been talk of a cure for at least the last 20 years. Nothing yet. Until then, we stay strong and try to keep healthy and sane lol ! Diabetes is 24/7 but I try to stay positive, there are worse things we could get !
It depends on what you call a cure and what type of diabetes you're talking about. One type of treatment won't 'cure' all types.
One small US charity aimed at parents of children with T1 says that they define a cure as a treatment that:
Does not require blood glucose monitoring beyond once a week
Keeps A1C levels between 5 and 7
Does not restrict a patient’s diet
Does not require carb counting
Allows patients to sleep care free
Best case: Zero side effects
Acceptable: Insignificant / non-invasive side effects
