The symptoms of a bezoar are similar to those of gastroparesis (delayed gastric emptying), and include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and a feeling of being full after eating a small amount of food. As diabetes and gastroparesis often occur together, any such symptoms should be taken seriously by a diabetic.

I have had serious issues with high blood sugars when not eating and taking a pile of insulin and think I have bezoars in my stomach as it is always swollen and constipated but doctors doing nothing as they say blood sugars need to go down how do I do that when the keep getting higher and higher

Hi Megan,

Have a good read of this article and see if you can relate to it.
It shows that your blood sugars will be erratic if you have this condition. It also details tests and medications to use.

I suggest you ask to see another Dr. or be referred to a Specialist if your current G.P. ignores your concerns.

Hi everyone,

I'm going through something similar.
I started vomiting in my sleep, my stomach was bloated and burnt like crazy, I would throw up but only once and get really bad reflux.

My GP has put me on Omeprazole which has improved the symptoms but they still happen if I accidently eat the wrong foods. I think my GP should have sent me for more tests but they never do!

It's worse than diabetes!

I might ask my hospital consultant for a second opinion, I am sure if he thinks there's something wrong he could always refer me to a specialist.
