Diabetic Hand Complications & Alleviation

Good Morning, Folks

Hope you're all having a great weekend & festive season!

The above has set in over the past few weeks (ie painful hands) - already have peripheral neuropathy in both feet & hands.

I'm a male 38 year old type 1 who has had this for 32 years November gone (also stage 2 retinopathy & ED) I have also been hypertensive since the age of 20!!

My question is this - I've played bass (and a little bit of acoustic) since my teens - if I played my bass again would it help with painful hands, or make them worse?

Hi Neal and welcome to the forum.

Who can say if it will help with your neuropathy problems , just keep playing until it gets too uncomfortable, if unsure what to do then speak with your consultant first, as with regards to your retinopathy problems, have a goo read around the following which has some great advice and information on diabetic retinopathy:
