I had similar at my screening in 2019, was seen at the hospital within 8 weeks for a follow up - the specialist took a quick look, their student a slightly longer one, and said "I don't know why they've refered you I can't see anything at all" but I'd much rater that the screening service erred on the side of caution, and I had a few worried weeks than they ignored something and I lost/damaged my sight. My sister has a chronic eye condition because a GP took a quick look at her eyes and prescribed antibotic eye drop for what was shingles on her optic nerve.
